Digital Cameras vs. Film Cameras - A comparison

Digital Cameras have revolutionized how we take photographs, print, store, and share them with our world. A digital camera, also known as a digicam, can record not just great pictures, but sound and video clips as well.

In traditional film cameras you don't know how the pictures have come out until you get them developed, which if you are a lazy kind could take months. Many times, you wait for the pictures of an important event in all excitement only to find out that the light was poor, pictures were blurry, or the object was half cut. Might be rare but at times the whole film turns out to be a bad one. To much disappointment, no photography science can revive those pictures. Digital cameras erase that uncertainty. The LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen of a digital camera offers an immediate view of what you just captured. With controls that give you the power to easily delete what you don't like. Retake what you don't want to miss. Store as many photographs as your memory-card size allows. You can comfortably store hundreds of pictures in a standard digital camera memory card. And of course, you can keep as many memory cards in your pocket as you like.

The digital camera advantages over the film cameras don't end there. You can download all that you have captured to your personal computer or laptop, using a USB cable that comes with the camera. Once you have got the photographs in your computer, you can do anything (virtually) with them -- use some free software to enhance the photographic images, add borders, create nice albums with memorable notes, upload them to some photo sharing sites like Picasa, or impress your Orkut and Facebook friends.

If you are still holding on to your film camera, you might like to put it on sale on TolMol or eBay and explore the new world of digicams. Join the next generation of digicam Indian. It’s fun!
