Motorola Droid - Answer to iPhoneMotorola Cliq might not have clicked for Motorola but here comes the Cliq Next - the Motorola Droid. The news hasn't gotten any official stamp yet however as per BGR website, Motorola's second Android phone named as Droid is on its way.
The details of the phone are yet to emerge but from the photo above (source: BGR) you can safely say that the design has the familiar overtones of an iPhone. The large display filled with colorful icons and an elegant grey-black metal exterior. Inside beats Google's latest Android 2. And the phone is predicted to be a serious iPhone competitor. The launches of iPhone killer mobiles are not uncommon. We have seen and heard of many in the past but none have gone beyond that initial euphoria. The disappointing part is that no mobile phone maker seems to be thinking beyond iPhone - they all seem to be trying to create another iPhone. Wonder why they think we need another one. Unless we are offered something better, something smarter we are happy with what we have got. I don't think there are many consumers out there who are looking for an iPhone with a different logo on it. I hope Motorola Droid does not fall into this temporary iPhone killer category. The Google Android 2 is the second version of Google's popular mobile platform - must be better than the first one. But will it give Motorola its second chance in mobile waters? What Cliq could not do for Motorola, will Droid do? We'll learn when the more details about the phone emerge and when we actually play with it. From what we know already about Motorola Droid, the physical keyboard may be its key highlight but that will surely add to the weight and size of the phone. And in that respect, can we really compare it with iPhone? Related Posts |
