New iPhone 3G S faster, richer in featuresApple unveiled its new iPhone 3GS at the much awaited annual Worldwide Developers Conference in California. The rumors about the phone's look and feel have been silenced. In exterior design iPhone 3GS is no different than its predecessor iPhone 3G. However, the newness lies inside. The "S" in "3G" stands for speed as per Apple. The new version is said to be twice as fast as iPhone 3G. Apart from speed and performance enhancements, the new iPhone boasts about many new features that make it a great buy.
The new iPhone will hit the stores in US on June 19 and is likely to reach India by August. It will come in 16GB and 32GB storage and the two versions will be priced at $199 and $299 respectively. The price of the old iPhone 3G (8GB) is being slashed down to $99. A move that should send far reaching smiles. Key features of iPhone 3G S Enhanced Photography - The 3GS camera will shoot videos and support zoom. You will be able to adjust the focus by just tapping the section of the photograph on the phone screen. Finally, Apple fans will have video capture feature in the iPhones. Intuitive user interface allows users to shoot a video, edit it, and share it easily. You don't have to remember tens of shortcuts or look for menu options to accomplish the same like is the case with many iPhone competitor products. Longer Battery Life - More feature rich a phone is, more energy it will consume. The new iPhone 3GS will come with a longer battery life to allow you to use it for long without recharging. New Operating System - The new iPhone OS version 3.0 will add 100 new features to all iPhone models.
Find My iPhone - The Mobile Me customers will enjoy a new Apple service which will let them sync their emails and other data between computers and iPhones. In case you lose your phone, the Mobile Me will display a Google Map pin pointing where your iPhone is. Of course, the phone has to be on for this feature to work. Once located, you can dispatch a message to the phone which will trigger an alarm alerting people nearby to save the phone for you. In case you cannot locate the phone and believe that it's permanently lost you can remotely delete all the personal data from it. Not only that, in case later you do find your phone you can restore all your data by syncing it with iTunes. This new My iPhone feature is undoubtedly the most exciting feature of the new iPhone. Voice Commands - The new iPhone 3GS takes the voice commands to a new level. You can not only prompt it to tell you the music artist you can also just instruct to "play like Apple iPhones haven't made major splash in Indian smartphone market especially due to their high price. The competition is heating up among the new Palm Pre, Blackberry, and Nokia N Series smartphones which is sure to drive the prices down. Apple is already planning to reduce the price for iPhone 3G.
