Nokia N97 Smartphone ReviewI finally got Nokia N97 smartphone under my fingers. The sleek mobile phone from Nokia has been making the noise for all good reasons. The size of the Nokia N97 screen and the slide out keyboard were the first things that caught my attention. The 3.5 inch screen, though is quite large, is not stunning like the one you find in HTC TouchFlo 3D and Apple iPhone devices. It lacks the brilliance I had expected. It felt ordinary.
I really liked the slideout keyboard. It's large and feels very soft under the fingers. The keys are placed wide-apart so is quite convenient to operate. I could type long paragraph of text without making any typing mistakes. Therefore I have to give thumbs up to Nokia N97's keyboard. The way it slides out and in is quite innovative. Almost makes your mobile phone look like a mini laptop. This Nokia Mobile also wins on speed. The screen responds fast, and browsing the internet is also a breeze. However, what I found lacking is the ease of use. I think Nokia can take some cues from Apple iPhone on how to provide intuitive touch menu. Many a times I found myself hunting for help on how to use certain functions. Once I had configured my home screen, it did feel easy to operate.
The 5 mega pixel camera of Nokia N97 with Auto Focus and LED flash doesn't disappoint. The picture quality is superb and I also liked various options it offers to enhance the photos. Watching videos on 3.5 inch wide screen was fun too. Both the audio and video qualities are satisfactory. Even though the phone weighs 150 gram, which is actually heavier than many smartphones in the market, it didn't feel heavy. But don't expect it to be a Moto Razr.
