Hitachi i-Clean Split ACs
This is among the latest split air conditioners from Hitachi. As the name suggests the AC comes with advanced self-cleaning technology. Dust and moisture can play devil in home air conditioners. They create perfect breeding environment for all sorts of harmful bacteria and fungi. Over a period of time, if not cleaned, they cloud the heat exchanger rods and fan blades which not only hurt the AC’s performance but can also cause serious health problems. Foul odor, poor air circulations, more energy consumption, higher level of noise are just some of the problems caused by clogged dust and moisture.
Hitachi i-Clean air conditioners come with automatic cleaning technology that ensures that air conditioner always emits fresh and healthy air. The interior of the iClean ACs is made of stainless steel that fights erosion well.
Hitachi iClean AC series comes in three models –
The 1.2 and 1.5 ton models use rotary type compressors whereas the ton model users scroll compressor. The indoor unit of the three i-Clean models weigh 12.5 Kg, the outdoor unit weight ranges from 38kg to 44 kg. The indoor units of iClean Split ACs are quite silent – the sound level of 1.2 ton model is just 38 dB and for 1.5 and 2 ton units it’s 40 and 42 dB respectively. The cooling capacity ranges from 13750 BTU/Hr to 21400 BTU/hr.
With 798x294x258mm dimensions the indoor unit of i-clean air conditioners is quite elegant. Its cleaning technology gives the flexibility of three modes – 1) auto clean that automatically cleans the air conditioner after it completes 10 hrs of cumulative running, 2) logi clean that automatically gets into cleaning operation once the unit completes 24 hrs of cumulative operation and 3) my clean that lets you clean whenever you want. While the cleaning operation can take up to 8 minutes, it ensures the durability of the AC and optimal and efficient operations for long period.
Hitachi i-Clean RAU514IRD 1.2 ton model is priced at Rs. 39,990, Hitachi i-Clean RAU517IRD 1.5 ton at Rs. 44,990, and Hitachi i-Clean RAU421IRD 2 ton model at Rs. 49,990. For 5 star rated air conditioners that can operate in up to 52 degree celcius temperatures, the price is quite reasonable.
Other features of the Hitachi iClean ACs include –
Auto humid control – The AC can reduce humidity by 27% thus is ideal for high humid regions.
On/Off Timer – This feature allows you to preset the AC on or off time so that when you enter your room you find it nice and cool and it goes off during the cool nights when you don’t want to waste electricity. Additionally, you can also set the temperature AC would try to reach at the set time. It automatically determines, based upon the room conditions, the exact time it needs to kick the operation on to reach that temperature level.
Powerful Mode – This mode allows you to quickly cool the room by sending higher volume of cool air into the room. This mode is required when you find the room boiling hot and need immediate relief from heat.
Digilock – This is an interesting feature that lets you lock your AC if you think it may get misused in your absence.
