While wall-mounted Air Conditioners have grown smaller, they still can leave sizeable clutter outside the building if you were to install the AC in multiple rooms. Each indoor AC unit would have a corresponding outdoor unit leading to ugly pile up of boxes and tubes outside the house or office building. Well, you didn’t have a choice until AC manufacturers, like Sanyo, recognized the problem. Sanyo came out with Flexi-Multi air conditioning solution where a single outdoor unit serves multiple indoor AC units. You can connect it to 2 to 4 indoor AC units depending upon your need. It's an excellent solution to space and AC maintenance headaches.

Sanyo Flexi-Multi Air Conditioners utilize an environmental friendly refrigerant R-410a and DC inverter technology. Every manufacturer understands how critical energy efficiency is for AC’s especially for the environment conscious consumer. No one wants to pay very high electricity bill or feel guilty of leaving a large carbon footprint. All the Sanyo AC models adjust the cooling automatically to ensure a stable room temperature without consuming unnecessary energy. Other features such as auto timer OFF function allows consumers to turn the AC off when not needed.

Like any other split AC system, Sanyo outdoor unit among other things contains the compressor system, heat exchanger coil, and fan motor. The indoor unit is responsible for directing the cooler air inside. It comes with a remote control that allows you to operate all the AC functions without leaving your place. You can adjust the room temperature, fan speed, airflow direction, and timer – all from a simple to use remote control. The horizontal airflow can be adjusted by moving vertical vanes of the AC with hands as well. You can turn them in the direction you want the air to flow i.e. left or right. For vertical airflow you have preconfigured levels available that you can select using the remote control. You have good flexibility there.

Sanyo AC’s features 3 different fan speeds – high, medium, and low. You can either select one of them or let the AC decide the optimum fan speed for you depending upon the room temperature, ventilation, and humidity. You can set the AC to resume specified settings after a power failure. When the power resumes you don’t have to set the temperature or fan speed all over again. You can also operate the AC in dry mode to keep the humidity out of your way. The negative ion generator function and anti mold filter in the AC purifies the air. The Sanyo Air Conditioner also features 24 hours ON or OFF as well as 1 hour OFF timer. You can set a timer for up to 24 hours to automatically turn the AC on or off. This function is very useful in cooler nights and also helps in avoiding unnecessary air conditioning.

Another useful feature of Sanyo Air Conditioners is Night Setback. Special Night Setback button on the remote control changes the setting of the room temperature thermostat allowing you to set a different temperature for the night time. You don’t have to worry about over cooling during the night hours.

Sanyo claims its Air Conditioners run in a quite mode causing minimal disturbance and are easier to maintain. The self-diagnostic feature allows you to catch any malfunctioning in the system early on.

Sanyo AC Models

Sanyo offers following wall-mounted Air Conditioner models, each offering its standard feature set. The only difference is in the capacity and the size of the unit.

The cooling capacity of these AC models ranges from 7500 BTU/h to 24,200 BTU/h. Weight ranges from 19.8 Lbs to 26.5 Lbs.

Sanyo DC Inverters

This is the outdoor unit that connects to one or more indoor AC units.

Overall Sanyo's flexi-multi Air Conditioners offer a great option to the consumers. However, you must keep in mind that while it makes the AC system more versatile it has its own risks. For example, when 4 indoor units are relying on a single outdoor unit you run the risk of losing all 4 air conditioned rooms when the outdoor units develops some problem. If each room had its own independent AC indoor-outdoor unit, it's unlikely that all four of them will go bad simultaneously. That's why buying an AC is not an easy task.
