Induction cooking is getting huge popularity in India recently. This is because of the myriad benefits which they have to offer over conventional flame based cooking methods. Let’s look at the various reasons behind the popularity of Induction cookers.

  1. Extremely efficient: According to statistical studies, induction cooking gives about 80% energy efficiency which is much higher than the 40% provided by the gas based cooking.
  2. Faster: Induction cooking is faster because it distributes the heat evenly to the things being cooked.
  3. The food absorbs less fat: This can also be attributed to the fact that heat distribution is even and cooking is fast. Thus, the material being cooked remains in contact with fat for less period of time and thus absorbs less of it.
  4. Optimal use of supplied energy: The wastage of heat in the induction based cooker is practically close to zero. This is because the heat is directed only towards the cooked material. In conventional flame cooking, food gets cooked due to conduction of heat from the hot bottom of the cooking vessel while it is reverse in the case of induction cooking.
  5. Safety: Induction cookers are the safest way to cook. This is because there are no open flames. The bottom part of cooker gets heated due to conduction from the hot vessel and not otherwise. Therefore, the temperature of any part (either the vessel used for cooking or the plate of induction cooker) never approaches more than the temperature of vessel. So, the risk of accidently burning your fingers is minimized. Small kids are more vulnerable to kitchen accidents like this. So, induction cooker ensures safety of the delicate skin of your tiny tots too.
  6. Cleaner kitchen space: Smoke emission is absent in case of induction cooking thus keeping your kitchen walls speck and span. So, the cost of getting your kitchen walls painted every second year is saved.
  7. Cooler kitchen space: As mentioned earlier, heat emission is zero to the outside atmosphere. So, the temperature of your kitchen is in tandem with the temperature of your remaining house.
  8. Health friendly: Using conventional cooking methods has several risks associated to your health in the long run. People having respiratory problems are the worst affected. Cooking on gas stove can aggravate asthma or other respiratory and lung related problems. Induction cooking doesn’t have any such side effects.
  9. Easy clean up: The induction cooker is flat physically. So, it can be wiped off easily thus cleaning it efficiently.
  10. Freedom from getting your gas cylinder replaced: With conventional cooking, a reason for stress is the need of replacement of gas cylinder after every month or two. Dealing with gas vendors who are perennially late is most of the time irritating and sometimes frustrating. Also, the gas vendors sometimes cheat you by giving you less gas for your money. All this is eliminated in induction cooking because all you need is a good electricity supply in your locality for your induction cooker to be up and working.
