How do you celebrate Diwali? The usual answer is by bursting crackers, sharing sweets, decorating homes and giving gifts. Well, this time you can celebrate it in an environment friendly way and protect the environment around you. Do not burst crackers: Do you know how much pollution these crackers create? Brighter the cracker more is the noise and pollution related to it. Not to forget what it does to your pockets as well. Decorate house with flowers: Instead of using decorations which are made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), usage of fresh flowers and foliage should be incorporated. You can place a big clay pot outside the house and put floating candles/diyas in it. This looks innovative as well as beautiful. You can use organic incense sticks instead of synthetic room fresheners and enjoy the lovely aroma. Choose Organic gifts for your near and dear ones: While choosing gifts, prefer buying green or organic ones. You can gift organic or hand made bags, decorative items or soaps. Do not wrap up the gift as a lot of paper is wasted in doing so. Save electricity: Instead of lighting several electric bulbs, try to light some diyas and candles.
