Home> Blogs> Laptops Notebooks> Huawei Lanches MediaPad Tablet

Huawei has launched their first Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet in the market. This is the first Honeycomb based tablet in the world. Huawei is the largest networking and telecommunications equipment supplier in China and the second largest supplier of mobile telecommunications infrastructure equipment in the world. We all know Huawei as a mobile phone supplier, don’t we?

The tablet is known as the MediaPad. The tablet with Qualcomm’s dual core 1.2 GHz processor and a 7 inch in plane switching capacitive touch screen is designed to be smart, slim and light tablet that combines portability and performance so well.

It is 10.5mm thin, weighs 390gm, and comes with 1.3 MP front facing and 5MP auto focus rear camera with HD video recording capabilities. Huawei is trying to be at the top of telecommunications market and is hoping to do that with this tablet’s launch.

Originally Huawei had launched a 7 inch Ideos S7 tablet which later was updated to version S7 slim. Huawei owners say that with this tablet they are coming into the market and wish to be known as innovator rather than a follower. The company has started exploring the device market aggressively with the launch of tablet and their own smart phones.

The MediaPad will be available for sale in Malaysia, sometime in October this year. Other countries like US, China, Hong Kong and Thailand will get it before the end of this year 2011. The device was launched in June and was scheduled to be launched in August. The tablet will come with flash player 10.3 and supports HSPA+ 14.4Mbps connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 8 GB internal storage. Till now it is priced at $473 USD.

Just for news did you know that Huawei has announced Chetan Bhagat to be the brand ambassador of Huawei Technologies? What best could be thought of than making a writer and a youth icon to be the brand ambassador of soon to be launched Huawei tablets. It’s like if you like my books go ahead and read them on Huawei tablet!

Huawei has been selling its gadgets in India for more than two years now and it plans to become a more consumer oriented company with the tablet. Even I have used some of the Huawei products and believe me they all have proved to be exact value of the money. Well, I am kind of not sure how tablets will be welcomed in the Indian market when there are already settled companies dealing with iPads and tablets. For now let's concentrate on reading Chetan Bhagat’s Revolution 2020 on Huawei tablet and see how the experience is.
