5 Tips for a Great Conversation on Mobile Phone

Home> Blogs> Mobile Phones> 5 Tips for a Great Conversation on Mobile Phone

Mobile phones have become such an indispensable part of our lives that we just can’t imagine to live without them for even an hour. Whatever may be the advancements in technology, but still, the biggest reason for using a mobile phone is to be able to listen to the voice of someone far away. But, sometimes by being careless you might inadvertently make life tougher for yourselves or others (people around you – the unlucky ones who have no choice but to bear with your pathetic cell phone etiquette!).  Also, unknowingly you might jeopardise your prospects (job, business, professional, personal) with the person you are talking to by showcasing your insensitive cell phone manners.

Here are some pointers which you go a long way in easing out life for you and your world (other people):

Keep The Call Short

If people are waiting for your attention to get just a paper signed or to discuss something quickly, then it’s not nice to keep them waiting for too long while you converse on the phone as if you have all the free time in the world. Nothing irritates the other person more than having being made to hear your gossip while waiting for your attention. This happens regularly in government offices (banks, administrative offices, etc. and sometimes in private institutions too). This way you are wasting other person’s productive time and ultimately causing a loss to the economy.

Keep your Voice Mailbox feature Enabled

If you need to make a really long cnversation on the phone, then enable the voice mailbox feature so that others can at least leave a message. An emergency call has no fixed time. That way, you get to keep a tab on who tried to reach you and for what reasons. Who knows if one of those reasons turns out to be really important!

Lower your voice volume while taking a call

Some people seem to think that their voice reaches to the other end when they talk quite loudly. It’s not uncommon to find people literally screaming on their cell phones to drive home a point. But, it’s not true. It’s a proven fact that your voice sounds best on phone when you talk at a moderate volume.

Engage with people, not with the phone while socialising

It feels quite awkward when someone just keeps talking on his/her phone while attending a important social gathering. Work might be important, but this way you are hurting the feelings of your near and dear ones. Over 80% calls can be comfortably made later. If you really need to make a call, keep it brief and succinct.

Look around before you talk

Avoid talking on personal topics when there are a lot of people around you. You might talk in a low voice, but still some people have this habit of straining every hearing nerve of themselves so that they may succeed in knowing about other person’s personal life. Also, kindly do not fondle with your phone during important face-to-face conversations (interview, business meetings, talking to your boss). Also, try to keep your phone in vibrate mode in office, museums, theatres, music shows, funerals, hospitals, classroom, etc.

I really hope that by putting these ideas to practice would help a great deal.
