Mobiles Phones have become our constant companion in our day to day life. These are undoubtedly the most popular communication devices worldwide. They have become part and parcel of our life and so important to our existence that we cannot even dream of leaving our homes without them. But there are situations where we run out of battery and do not have a charger or a a power outlet nearby and we end with a dead phone in our hands.

Cell phone users can prevent such situation and save the precious battery of the cell phone for a long time.  Here are 5 tips that will help you save cell phone battery.

1. Switch it off while it is being charged: This is an absolutely a great tip because it will help your mobile phone to store more power and at a fast rate. So, when you know that you are not likely to use it and it needs charging then you can always switch it off.

2. Do not use extra tones: There are several tones that come embedded in the mobile phones. For instance the keypad tones, you may not need them. Every time you use the keypad and press any button these tones ring aloud, you can deactivate them. You can also switch off the startup tone of your phone. This is simple because why would you like others to know that you are starting your phone.  You can also use short tones for messages or completely avoid them. These tones act as an alert whenever you receive a message, but if you are constantly hooked to your phone then there's no need of such an alert.

3. Light: You can always turn off the back-light during the day and in the process you'll save a lot of phone battery. You can also reduce contrast and brightness of your cell phone during the day  and therefore change the display settings. If you are using an animated picture for screen savers as compared to the static ones, then also you lose a lot of battery. You can avoid this too.

4. Switch off the technology not in use: You need to deactivate the technology you are not using. For example after using the Bluetooth or infrared, you need to deactivate when you are not sending or receiving data. You can also deactivate Wi-Fi if you do not intend to be online. Similarly, if you do not engage in video calling or want make such calls immediately, you can switch off the 3G technology.

5. Switch off the phone when you are not receiving signals: If you are in such a place such as a basement you can switch off your phone because a lot of battery will be drained out as the handset will try searching for signals. In the process, there are lesser chances that you will get signal and simultaneously you will lose the cell phone battery as it will run out fast.

Thus, with the above mentioned simple tips you can save a great deal of your phone battery. This will prevent you from accompanying a cell phone that runs out of battery frequently. By following these simple and easy tips you can virtually increase the battery life of your loyal companion- your cell phone.
