Karbonn K406 Mobile Phone
Karbonn K406 is a Dual SIM handset which sports bigger speakers than the other handsets in the Karbonn series with a similar price bracket. Karbonn has tried to incorporate almost all the essential features of a useful handset in it. The phone is GPRS enabled and is extremely lightweight. It weighs a paltry 75 grams. The physical dimensions of the phone are 110.0mm (height), 46.0mm (width) and 15.0mm (depth). You can easily slip it in your pockets or hold for long hours. The battery life of Karbonn K406 is a bit disappointing. The Battery talk time is around 4 hours. Standby is 200 hours. This will obviously require frequent charging of the phone and we just hope the charger is not bulky. Display quality and screen resolution of Karbonn K 406 is good. The phone supports 1000 phone entries and an amazing amount of SMS messages (500) for such a basic handset. The phone can also handle MMS quite comfortably. Also, the external memory of the phone is expandable up to 8 GB. The colour of the backlight is cool blue which further adds to the appeal of the handset. It’s also loaded with anti theft feature (mobile tracker), one touch camera (VGA camera with zoom) and voice recorder. The anti-theft feature sets it apart from other handsets in the same price range. The Karbonn K406 has dedicated music keys along with high-quality audio output with its “hi-fi sound” and “crystal clear loudspeaker output”. FM radio features are also in abundance, such as recording, alarm, presets, and loudspeaker. So, one can easily record the song currently playing on the FM in case the song is too cute to not exist in your phone memory. Bluetooth and USB are also enabled. Calculator, Alarm Clock, Stop Watch, Speed dialing, Calendar, Scheduler, to do list, world time, currency converter are other useful add-ons. Two other cool features are: Caller Id with photo of the person calling you and Call Conferencing. Call Conferencing may be particularly useful while discussing some project with your team members or talking to friends. One interesting feature which I regularly find in basic handsets is the presence of a good torch which is usually non-existent in expensive handsets. A powerful torch of a handset can help you out in weird situations where you need to find your way through darkness. This handset too has a pretty useful torch. Karbonn K 406 is priced at around Rs. 2600 in the Indian market. Considering the really affordable price and the richness of the features of the handset, one needs to give a good thought to this handset if one is purchasing a handset in this price bracket. Karbonn is an emerging brand and so far it has been successful in satisfying its customers in terms of quality.
