It is estimated that USD 1 million will be spent on the marketing of their product for the first four months. The new Philips mobile phone handsets are equipped with Xenium technology, which saves phone’s energy and increases the battery life. SSF has set a target of selling thirty lakh phones over the next two years and has plans to launch two Android based smart phones in the next month. I say, who doesn’t want to launch a smart phone or tablet these days? Anyways, the company has revealed six dual SIM mobile handsets namely Philip Xenium X806, X523, X513, X116 and X121. All of these are priced between Rupees 1,776 to Rupees 8,280. X806 and X518 are high end touch screen phones and rests of them are the usual dual SIM mobile handsets. (Compare Mobile Phones) If we try to predict their success then I guess that won’t be so tough. These mobile handsets have something new in them and I am sure that will attract customers. Not that the market has less number of dual SIM mobile phones, instead Philips Xenon mobile phone will use green technology which is kind of new in mobile arena. The Philips Xenium X513 is priced at Rs 4,776. The phone offers sixteen hours of talk time, unto eighty hours of music playback, one thousand phone book entries, storage capacity for one thousand SMS and expandable memory up to sixteen GB. The Philips X806 has touch screen and a touch sensitive dashboard for quick access to applications. In a price of Rupees 8,280 the handset boasts a 5MP camera and expandable external memory up to 8 GB. Among other Xenium phones, X518 is around rupees 5976 has a 2.8 inch TFT touch screen, present widgets and a 2MP camera with flash. Philips Xenium X523 is available for Rupees 4,992 and has a 3.2 MP camera with flash with expandable memory up to 32 GB. All these phones seems promising to me but their usage and sale can’t be predicted so well .We just need to wait and see how people react to it so that some conclusions could be drawn out.
