Apple iPod Shuffle (3rd-gen), World's Smallest MP3 PlayerApple launched its next generation iPod shuffle that, it claims, is world's smallest MP3 player. This mini 1.8" x 0.3" MP3 music player is only your room-key sized but surprisingly offers 4GB space to store up to 1000 songs.
Small can be Good and Bad The downside of the new Apple iPod shuffle of course is that the device is so small that you can easily lose it. Apple does provide a clip that you can use to keep your iPod intact with your jeans, shirt, or backpack. See if you find that clip a style accessory. If you listen to music at your desk, be careful. You can easily mistake this new iPod for a pen drive. On the plus side, the small size definitely makes the MP3 player much more portable. Controls in Earbuds Apple managed to shrink the size of iPod by moving its controls over to the earbud. Apple thinks that the earbuds is the best place for having the controls. The sales of new iPod will reflect how many people agree with that. One can easily preset volume controls and not have to worry about changing those frequently. But for switching the playlist or the song, you do need to reach out to controls. You are in a bit of trouble if you like using non-Apple headphones. You can listen to the music but damn you can't pause or forward it. Too bad! The solution? Adjust your controls using Apple earbud and then switch to whichever headphones you like until you need another adjustment. iPod Talks! Apple has introduced a new VoiceOver feature in this iPod 3rd-gen. You can simply press a button to hear it say the name of playelist or artists. Cool, isn't it? With this new Voice-over feature, Apple is probably heading towards next version of iPod which will allow you to simply name the playlist of song you want to play and iPod will follow your order without requiring any button push for the switch. This voice-over feature supports multiple languages so you aren't restricted to English only. Battery & Power You can fully charge iPod in 2-3 hours.
