Laptop Brands - Who's Best SellingLaptop manufacturers are up to the task of satisfying the ever changing needs and tastes of consumers. From high performance to ultra portable, from colorful to customizable, from stripped-down to energy efficient - they are lining up an ever growing army of laptop models. Consumers love all the bells and whistles they can get however what drives the popularity of a particular laptop model over others is the price. Atleast for now. (Compare laptop prices in India) The latest trends show that consumers are more price conscience than ever before. The brand value carries lesser meaning over the price factor. This may have to do with the recession. The little known brands are selling more laptops than the renowned ones. In the US market, the laptop brands speeding ahead in the sales race are Acer and Compaq. Apple's MacBook continues to rule the popularity chart. After Apple you would expect to see HP and Dell but surprisingly they stand behind Acer and Compaq in sales growth. Lenovo, ASUS and Sony, inspite of offering some of the best laptops, are further behind the leading duo. The trend may be temporary. When people feel more optimistic about the economic conditions, they may open their wallets wider to spend more. In bad economy it's not uncommon to compromise and buy what fits the bill rather than showering dollars on the dream product (read laptop). Buying cheap is not bad as long as you can live with your purchase for at least 2-3 years. If you know you would need a muscular laptop just one year down the lane, it's better to spend those dollars now or wait a bit to make the purchase. Each laptop brand offers specific laptop models targeted at specific consumer needs. An ideal laptop purchase will be one that meets both your short term as well as longer term needs. Therefore it's worth studying what each brand has to serve before jumping for one.

Compaq is best! But I have serious doubts about Acer laptops. Wonder why people like them. By: Jagad1006 days ago |
