LG GD910, The Wonderful Watch Phone

Going by the features and functionalities of LG’s latest offering LG GD910, calling this Watch Phone one-of-its-kind seems like an understatement. Just break the name - Watch and Phone, it’s a watch that acts as a mobile phone. Doesn’t it sound like an ultra cool gadget belonging to the world of super spy James Bond? To me it surely does and once you take a closer look at how marvelously it has been designed you will be as wonderstruck as I am.

If you are a mobile phone freak then I am sure you would know that LG had introduced a prototype to this offering way back in 2008. With the launch of GD910, which has some amazing upgrades and breathtaking capabilities you know you are up for a big treat.

Since this is a Watch and a Phone, LG has taken every care to ensure that one, it works like a great mobile phone and two, it is also very stylish and easy to wear on the wrist as a watch. Once I take you through the marvel that LG GD910 is, trust me you would be singing its praises all day long and may be dreaming about it at night as well.

Let us start from the first part of the name, Watch. As a watch it is very comfortable. LG has used very fine and durable material to give it a sturdy demeanor but without compromising with the looks. In fact the Watch Phone has been created with very fine design elements so that it looks absolutely awesome and as a watch becomes your companion to any party or occasion. You can wear this as a fantastic accessory and get all the attention.

But to me the biggest attraction about the Watch Phone is definitely the Phone part of it. As a mobile phone it is not only superior to most of the other models, but is able to give even the best of mobile phones a run for their money. To begin with, moving with the times the phone has been provided with 3G capability (7.2 Mbps 3G HSPDA, if you are too technically inclined) so that you can access internet at unimaginable speeds. Then there is a built-in camera enabling you to make video phone calls without any hassles anytime of the day.

The fact that it is small in size has been totally negated by the 3.63cm touchscreen that boasts of Flash interface, another innovation of LG. Then there is voice recognition feature, Text to Speech (TTS) capability, Bluetooth and a very decent built-in speaker. As a mobile phone it is as good as it could have been. And as a Watch Phone I am sure you would agree that with more features than what you would dreamt of, the kind of buzz that this jewel has managed to create is not at all surprising.
