Motorola Droid Vs Apple iPhoneAfter having a free run for long two years, the eye candy Apple iPhone may have finally found a real challenger in Motorola Droid. Apple iPhone came to existence in 2007 but in a short span it grew into a massive force that had everyone on its side. Media and blogging world could never stop raving about it. The mobile app developers fell over each other to build applications for the phone that came with a powerful mobile platform. Apple’s App Store witnessed an unstoppable app storm that led to a whopping 100,000 apps – and growing. Consumers, especially in the US, stood in long lines to claim their iPhone. In no time, the success of Apple iPhone got to the necks of mobile makers including the giants like Nokia. The iPhone chrisma left every competitor struggling and fumbling to match up to its design, looks, features, and the overall experience. In two years, we have seen many manufacturers trying to build iPhone like phones but failing miserably. No one could engineer a real threat to iPhone other than Motorola. And, it’s no surprise. Motorola, the telecom company, had already given its own share of gorgeous mobile handsets to consumers in Moto RAZR and Motorola Aura. Motorola Droid, therefore, was about to happen. It’s a compelling mobile phone that’s powered by Google Android mobile platform 2. It wins over Apple iPhone in various departments – big ones being physical keyboard, expandability, navigation, and customizations. It gives what iPhone gives and a bit more. Finally, the world got another smartphone, in Motorola Droid, to sing about otherwise the iPhone praise was getting so dead monotonous. Droid offers a bigger display than Apple iPhone. The big icons on the Droid screen are similar to what you find in iPhone but you have more screen customization options in Droid. Along with on-screen touch pad, it gives you the option to pull out a physical keyboard and type more comfortably. The battery life of Droid is as good as that of iPhone. You may find the choice of Android apps lesser compared to iPhone apps however you will not be disappointed by their quality. The only thing that would be hard to beat in iPhone is its sensuous curvy looks. And, that’s not small. Motorola Droid is not an ugly looking cell phone but it isn’t as attractive either. You could argue that you cannot compare the two and I would not argue back but I would certainly add that iPhone’s slimmer and curvy looks somehow make you want it.
