Nokia N8 Redefines Mobile Technology?
Nokia is looking to strengthen its market position by introducing Nokia N8 in the India market. In fact, Nokia N8 claims to redefine the mobile technology. With many innovative features, the phone is definitely seeking to challenge many models from other leading brands. A few key features are outlined here. Nokia has 12 MP camera that promises to capture ‘vivid moments of your life’. Nokia N8 comes in five different colours – silver, red, blue, black, and green but what is special about the phone is its corrosion and wear resistance. The metal of the phone has been treated in such a way that even if there any minor scratches you can simply rub them off. The phone also supports HDMI and the HDMI connector enables you to connect N8 to your TV and share your pictures from the phone. It comes with 16GB of internal memory that can store about 30 to 40 standard 2hr movies. Nokia N8 offers Dolby Digital Sound- Adding Dolby Digital Plus with 5.1 Surround Sound.The phone also offers a capacitive touchscreen that has intelligence inbuilt so that it only responds to relevant inputs. For example, if you wiping your screen then phone should not consider that action as a relevant input and therefore should not respond. N8 has an integrated battery that offers talk time of 720 mins (GSM) and 350 mins (WCDMA) and standby time comes in at 390 hours. The phone comes with all the standard social networking features. Nokia N8 for the first time brings Nokia's new app named “Social” which is developed for Symbian3 devices. Social allows the users to connect to all their networking sites with one application rather than loading an app for each site. Another feature worth mentioning here is Adobe Flash support. The N8 supports all the video features of Adobe’s latest Flash offering, Flash player 10.1 and most Action Script 3 based content. Nokia N8 also features a completely new email client combining several accounts into one. There are number of supported email clients with POP3/IMAP and Nokia N8 also supports the business email solution - Mail for Exchange. Other features from Nokia N8 are backlighting and ambient light sensor, magnetometer (compass), orientation sensor and as well a proximity sensor. The Nokia N8 is priced in India at Rs 26,259.
