Will Google Nexus One fail to be number one in the market?
Now that it has been over a week since the Google Nexus One was launched, it is a good time to review where the phone stands with its initial launch and how people have welcomed it. Like with its other product launches, Google did a great job in creating the buzz in the media world about the phone. And you wonder why Google don’t advertise! But, interestingly this time, Google was heavily advertising its phone launch from the day one using banner ads. And you don’t have to guess where Google advertised its new phone - Google Adwords, using the advertising network. Coming back to the guaging early response to the phone, the jury is giving it 7-8 out of 10. Many have doubts if it is going to seriously challenge the Apple iPhone which has got 9.5/10. As one expert says that Google phone doesn’t come across as something that is born to be a leader in the smartphone space. No doubt, the Google Nexus One has its strengths but there is nothing credible that can pose a serious threat to its key competitors. The only company that is expected to be impacted adversely is Motorola. Motorola was offering Android on its phone and now people have the same platform offered by Google so people will have to first reject Google phone before going for Motorola phone . Google has however definitely tried to create a new business model by selling the phones directly on its site but experts wonder if that is going to make much difference to the buyers who usually like to go to in-store to touch and feel the phone before buying. However, by providing multiple carrier options will surely help it to reach out to more people. At present, it ie offering T-Mobile but soon going to add Verizon as its carrier. Google Nexus One with its powerful microprocessor and cool display capabilities no doubt is here to stay but if it is going to number one, we have our doubts.

Why would it fail? Google Nexus may not be an earth shattering device but the jazzy phone has got everything that its competitors offer. By: Dinesh858 days ago |
