Honda Civic Hybrid price falls by Rs 8 lakh

Honda India has amazingly dropped Honda Civic Hybrid price by rupees 8 lakh. Now, that is some price drop! In the history of automobiles in India, no automaker has ever slashed prices by that big amount.

Honda Civic Hybrid was priced at Rs 21.5 lakh on its launch. Now the environmental friendly car will cost only Rs. 13.36.

The price drop news will cheer many Honda fans who have been wanting to buy this hybrid car but saw a big liability in the price tag. Let's hope that cheer translates to some good sales for Honda motors.

Honda Civic Hybrid model was launched in India in June 2008 and Honda only managed to sell 60 odd cars. Which is meager when you compare Honda Civic petrol version sales for the same time duration.

Honda Civic Hybrid is India first hybrid and most fuel efficient car however its launch price was so high that people preferred to pay at the petrol pump. They couldn't afford the luxury to spend lesser on petrol by paying a heavy price up front.
